MODSORK is an arcade game about ambidexterity and interactive music. The player controls two avatars at the same time, controlling each with one half of the gamepad. These avatars can be connected with a laser beam in order to clothesline the endless waves of enemies that spawn in the arena. All this happens to the beat of adaptive music that reacts to game events. In turn, most elements of the game are synchronized to the rhythm of the music. It’s a challenging game that entices the player to go “just one more time” over and over as they gradually master the unique controls, deriving satisfaction from the fact that all progress is real skill progress of the player.

“I am a solo developer from the region of Basel, Switzerland. While I am not truly ambidextrous, I do some things with one hand and others with the other, which is called “cross-dominance”. So this game is maybe more personal than its abstract visuals and arcadey nature might initially suggest. I am also very interested in music and how it interacts with other media, which is what inspired me to experiment with interactive music in MODSORK.”
