Self-defeating Subtle Marketing
When we struggle to find the ressources to do proper marketing for our games, we always end up stuck between doing nothing, because we want to do everything right and don’t have the mental capacity or budget for it, or just do something, because we find it fun and we are able to pull it off. Hence we’ve gravitated towards the pointlessness of something we’ve come to label Subtle Marketing – as self-defeating as it comes. It’s basically marketing no one notices, but we have fun doing it. (And of course we keep telling ourselves, that there will be an upside to it one day) In this talk and game designer and producer Esben Kjær Ravn of Kong Orange will show examples of Subtle Marketing primarily for their upcoming title Felix The Reaper.
