Designing Future Realities
In this talk Robin Hunicke, ceo and co-founder of Funomena will talk about the design challenges and affordances presented by emerging technologies in AR, VR and mixed reality expereince design. Because the rules of these worlds will not be hampered by the constraints of physics, physical space, barriers like language, physical proximity or time… they can (and will) completely change the way we think about relating to one another. This talk will address some of the new responsibilities and opportunities we can take hold of as a community in this exciting and unpredictable time of immense change.
Robin Hunicke is the Co-Founder and CEO of the independent game studio Funomena, which creates experimental games for Console, PC, VR & AR platforms including the award-winning, IGF-Nominated VR fairytale Luna, and the highly anticipated collaboration with Keita Takahashi, Wattam.
She has been designing, making and teaching about games for over 15 years (Journey, Boom Blox, MySims, TheSims2), and was named as one of the top ten most influential Women in Games this year by PC Magazine.
