Dealing with Social Issues: Past, Present and Future.
No creation is apolitical. We build games that inherently speak to present-day political and social issues, and so we should approach this intentionally. How do we talk about the real world in our games, while respecting the past, and looking forward to the future? Through the lens of Gone Home, Tacoma, and other examples throughout games as a medium, we’ll look at new and established methods for grappling with topics that impact people’s real lives in a thoughtful, authentic way.
